The 400 lines from GXP present lethal P-insertions on the X-chromosome. The genetic data (including localization on the polytene chromosome map) are available from FlyBase as well as from FlyView (search below). Stocks can be ordered from Bloomington stock center (via FlyBase).
Bloomington Stock Center has changed stock numbers of P-stocks. According to the Conversion Table for Stock Numbers we have changed FlyView stock numbers.
We have also included 61 GAL4 lines. Pictures of expression patterns were taken from F1 embryos from crosses of P{GAL4} x UAS-lacZ. Searching for these lines can simply be done by using "GAL4" in the genotype field of "Search for pattern elements" or "Search for stocks". A list of stock numbers is added to the "Overview" section.
General information on enhancer-trap lines can be found on William R. Engels pages: P Elements in Drosophila.
FlyView presents the following possibilities for searching:
Search for pattern elements:
Searching with keywords in text descriptions, getting back images with links
to the appropriate stocks.
Search for stocks
: Searching in all main fields of the database: stock number, allele, genotype,
chromosome, insertion site, viability, developmental stage and expression pattern. As a search
result you will get back a list of found stocks, guiding to full descriptions,
including links to images, e-mail address for ordering and, in the case
of BDGP lines, also direct links to FlyBase and/or EofD.
Overview: Here you will
find an actual list of all lines included in FlyView, linked to stock descriptions
and images.
Antibody stainings
of embryos of the BDGP and GXP lines were done in the laboratory of Herbert Jäckle
at the Max-Planck-Institute in Göttingen, Germany. Scanning the digital images and describing the patterns was done by the FlyView team. Extensive genetic and molecular data of the BDGP lines can be found on the
BDGP-server.
